Menlyn Park Easter

2011-04-19

Menlyn Park spread the Easter spirit with the Ndlovu organisation.

Menlyn Park with their hearts for Easter, celebrated the day with Ndlovu medical centre. The Ndlovu Medical Centre was started in 1994 by Dr Hugo Templeton as a medical practise to treat HIV/Aids patients. The practise has since expanded into an organisation that has integrated with the local community of Elandshoorn at various levels which includes looking after orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) impacted by HIV/Aids.

The OVC Pre-School project was specifically started to feed and care for orphaned pre-scholars whose parents are severely ill and not able to take care of their children. As these kids are not of a school going age the Government does not provide any care facilities for them often resulting in them having to stay at home alone whilst their older siblings have to go to school.

They hosted 20 children from the organisation to enjoy a day @ Menlyn Park in the spirit of Easter on Wednesday, 20 April from 14h30. The Adventurous day started with the children doing an Easter egg hunt @ the play park, with a delicious lunch courtesy of Wimpy Menlyn and a delectable chocolate bunny hamper from Lindt Chocolate, followed with a movie “HOP’ @ Nu Metro Menlyn.

The day was ended with a nice goody hamper for each child sponsored by Diep in die Berg.
